Frequently Asked Questions

What is permanent jewelry?

Simply put: it’s jewelry without the clasp! The bracelet, anklet or necklace is expertly fitted to you and the ends are safely welded together, while on your body, to eliminate the need for a clasp (although we offer those, too!) We’re all about making accessorizing EASIER!

How does it work?

During your appointment, you will choose from our selection of chains to find one (or more!) that you love. You can also select charms to personalize your jewelry. Not sure what you want? Let us help you!

Once we’ve designed your perfect piece of jewelry, our team will ask you questions about your preferences and lifestyle to suggest the perfect fit. We let you move around to ensure you love the fit before cutting the jewelry chain.

We then attach the ends of the jewelry chain together using a tiny jewelry spot welder and creating the permanent fit. While the process is quick and simple, we take measures to protect your skin JUST in case, by using a small leather patch under the chain when we weld to serve as a barrier. If you want to watch the weld, we also provide a pair of sanitized safety glasses to protect your eyes from the flash. We then remove the leather patch and your safety glasses and you’re done!

How long does it last?

As long as you want it to! Our jewelry is low-maintenance and made from quality material that can withstand daily wear for the long term, so while some of our clients prefer to switch their jewelry out with the seasons, others wear their pieces for years.

What kind of metals do you use?

All of our chains and charms are .925 Sterling Silver or Gold Filled. Gold filled is NOT gold plated jewelry. Our gold filled jewelry is a thick layer of 14k gold that is mechanically heat-bonded to a jeweler’s brass core. This creates the strength and affordability that solid gold does not, while still remaining a quality piece of jewelry that is a great choice for permanent jewelry.

Does it hurt?

Not at all. We call it permanent because we attach the ends of the jewelry together, but no part of the process involves attaching jewelry to your skin. After we have sized your jewelry to fit you perfectly, I put a small piece of leather between the bracelet and your skin to serve as a protective barrier (just in case! The spark from the welder is very small.) as well as offer you protective welding glasses for your eyes if you would like to watch the spark. I then use my micro welder to apply one small zap to the jewelry to ensure it is closed together nicely and will not easily break.

What if I need to remove it?

Removal is easy! Simply use scissors to cut the jewelry at the site of the weld. Hang on to it so that we can reweld it for you or put a clasp on it for future use.

What is your warranty?

While we do not offer refunds, we stand behind our products and will offer a replacement piece for defective jewelry in the first 30 days. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear and tear or excessive strain on the piece. Repairing a piece of jewelry that had to be removed or broke is always free, as long as you still have the chain and it is not damaged beyond repair.

What is your age policy?

We will do permanent jewelry on anyone over the age of 16. With parent/guardian consent, we will put jewelry on anyone over age 12. Our jewelry is not intended for children under 13.

Do you do parties?

We love parties and would be honored to be a part of your next event. We simply ask that there are a minimum of 5 people/pieces sold. Fill out our Permanent Jewelry Party Interest Form or call, text or email to book! 720-808-1205 or adornablepj@gmail.com

Do you have a storefront?

We are so proud to have opened up a small permanent jewelry studio in Parker, CO. While it is not a traditional storefront, it is a beautiful space inside of an office building that is dedicated completely to providing you with a luxury permanent jewelry experience. While we are open by appointment only, we've got plenty of appointments throughout the day, evening, and weekends, including same-day appointments! Don’t see the appointment time you were hoping for? Send us a text! 720-808-1205.

How do I care for my jewelry?

Permanent jewelry is wonderful because of its low maintenance. Your care kit came with a jewelry polishing cloth, but you can also use Dawn Dish Soap, toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush, or any jewelry cleaner. For severely tarnished jewelry, we recommend Tarn-X, which can be found on Amazon, at Walmart or at any hardware store.

Help! I have a black ring on my skin where my jewelry is!

This is very normal and does not mean your permanent jewelry has “turned.” We guarantee the quality of our pieces. A black ring, or metallic abrasion, can happen with the finest pieces of jewelry and is normally a result of body chemistry, sweat, buildup of dirt, lotions, perfumes, etc. It is not harmful and can be washed right off of your skin. When this happens, we do recommend giving your permanent jewelry a thorough cleaning with either Dawn Dish Soap or toothpaste and a soft bristled toothbrush.

Will they make me remove my permanent jewelry at airport security?

Nope! Our clients love to travel and airport security does not require you to remove your permanent jewelry.

I have an upcoming MRI. Will I need to remove my permanent jewelry?

Possibly. Be sure to connect with your doctor. If you do need to remove your permanent jewelry, simply cut it off at the tiny ring we used to weld it together and keep the chain. When you are ready, we can reattach it.

Can you fix or resize a piece of permanent jewelry I had done by someone else?

I would be happy to! Whether your permanent jewelry was done by me or by someone else, I want you to love it. Stop by a market, or book a repair/reweld appointment and we will get your permanent jewelry back on and sized perfectly for you!
